  • Saturday, August 15th - Self-Care Saturday with the Community of Black ECEs
    The Community of Black ECEs is inviting early years educators to make new connections, catch up with friends, and have a great time together! Snacks and refreshments will be provided, as well as special programming for attendees that reflect the needs, interests, and future goals of Black Early Childhood Educators.   • Thursday, August 20th - Durham Region Early Years Meet-Up with the AECEO team
    This event isn’t a formal meeting, it’s a get-together with other ECE people who care as much as you do. The vibe is: you're a kid coming to your after school program and we are your educators, ready to take care of you! Join us on Thursday, August 20th 6:30-9PM, to meet likeminded educators, connect with YOUR professional association, and learn about how we can create real change together! Sign up now via this link to save your spot.
  • DATE CHANGE - Sunday, August 23rd - ECE Field Trip on the Humber Recreational Trail with EYP Rise Up TO
    Join EYP Rise Up TO (Toronto & GTA CARE Collective) for a special ECE Field Trip along the Humber Recreational Trail. This nature walk will be a chance to (re)connect with your inner child, and tap into your sense of wonder, and learn more about why intentionally creating opportunities for ECE joy, curiosity, and friendship is crucial to sustaining our passion for the wonderful and demanding role of early childhood educator.   • Wednesday, August 26th - Ready to Act: MPP Training & Action Planning (Advocacy Workshop)
    Join the AECEO and the OCBCC online on Wednesday, August 26th 7-8:30PM for a free advocacy workshop where you will build leadership skills, feel empowered, receive community support and updates, and plan how you can make a difference for the early years sector in Ontario. This session includes an informative walk through the Care Counts campaign, and updates on the advocacy work the AECEO and OCBCC are doing! Click here to register!
  • Monday, September 28th - AECEO Annual Members' Meeting (AMM)
    At the AMM, AECEO members have opportunity to review the organization's activities over the last fiscal year, meet nominees for the Board of Directors, discuss important motions, and more! Registration link and AMM materials will be sent to members closer to the date. Join or renew your membership to participate in the AMM! 
  • September 2026 - International ECE & Student Café Chat with  Student Early Childhood Educators of Ontario (SECEO) and the  Migrant Workers Alliance for Change
    In hopes to better accommodate everyone's schedules and allow for active participation in this important gathering, the International Student & ECE Cafe Chat with the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change is being postponed to September. Domestic and international students and educators are invited to join and learn more about the vital role of international care workers. Stay tuned to AECEO emails for the new date!

AECEO and CARE Collective events are available for anyone in the ECE community - RECEs, child care workers, ECE students, new grads - as a part of the AECEO's ongoing commitment to creating a strong united voice for all ECEs in Ontario. If you'd like to support this kind of work, please consider becoming a member of the AECEO. 

Important Reminder for AECEO Members before the AMM 
The AECEO is looking for passionate ECE professionals interested in making change in the Ontario early years sector to join the AECEO Provincial Board of Directors. Your knowledge and experiences working in early learning and child care are extremely valuable and can make you a great candidate for this leadership role. No previous board experience is required. Only members in the professional membership categories can run for the Board. You can check if your membership category can hold a board position under the Rights & Privileges column on this page. If you are unsure of your membership category, or would like to upgrade it, please contact our Office & Membership Administrator Sue at [email protected]

AECEO members also have the opportunity to propose a motion for consideration by the general membership during the 2026 voting process. Members can submit a motion via the AECEO Member Motion form, available via online Google form. You can also download the form and send it to [email protected], or mail it to the AECEO. 

Monday, August 10th
