The AECEO & OCBCC invites racialized educators to a consultation session to share their experience during the pandemic. The consultation will be on Tuesday, June 7, 7-8.30pm EST.
The main objective of the WAGE project is to centre the voices of racialized mothers and educators in shaping child care response and recovery in Ontario. It will also support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19 and help to understand the different ways that diverse groups experience child care barriers during the pandemic. This project is funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada’s Feminist Response and Recovery Fund.
We hope that this consultation session will help us to connect with racialized educators with lived experience in child care and family programs, hear their perspectives, and amplify their voices when making recommendations for improved services in child care and family programs across Ontario at the end of this project.
The session will consist of pre and post surveys, screening digital stories, and facilitated small group discussions offering opportunities for participants to engage and respond to the three guiding questions. There will be a professional therapist in attendance.
The consultation will not be recorded to ensure a safe/brave space for all participants. Data will be collected by AECEO and OCBCC facilitators/notetakers in the breakout sessions.
