Jordan's Principle

image_123650291.jpgThe AECEO Guiding Committee on Truth and Reconciliation is launching this e-action in solidarity with First Nations Child and Family Caring Society, to support and amplify their advocacy on the Government of Canada’s changes to Jordan’s Principle funding. Jordan's Principle is a child-first principle to ensure First Nations children get the services they need when they need them

The 2025 changes by Indigenous Services Canada narrowed eligibility criteria and raised serious concerns for the children and families that the AECEO and the ECE community work with and care about across Ontario and beyond. As early childhood educators and advocates committed to Truth and Reconciliation, we are deeply troubled by this rollback and stand ready to support efforts to challenge and reverse it.

Your voice matters! Please join our advocacy campaign by using the e-action tool below to send a letter to call on Government and your elected representatives to comply with the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal’s decisions to fully implement Jordan’s Principle.

Click here to read the full text of the letter template. And please share this action in your networks.

We are grateful to the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care for providing their e-action online tool to support this work.
