April 2025 Updates and Events

Here's what the AECEO has going on in April 2025:

  • Members-Only Session on Thursday, April 24th at 8:30PM
    AECEO members are invited to join us at the next membership meeting to discuss the federal election and what it means for ECEs and the child care community. This session will include a Q & A with our policy team, membership updates, next steps in AECEO campaigns and upcoming opportunities. Participants will have opportunity to ask questions and network.   • AECEO CARE Collective Events

Join the Student Early Childhood Educators of Ontario on Tuesday, April 22nd, at 7PM to learn more about what the federal election means for those about to enter the early childhood sector, and to play a game of Elections Jeopardy! with fellow students (and win prizes!)Register here!

Join the Community of Black ECEs on Wednesday, April 23rd, at 7PM for Inclusion, Self & and Representation, a workshop led by CoBECEs co-lead Tonja Armstrong-McInnis. More information available on CoBECEs social mediaRegister here!

Federal Election Townhall with Early Years Coalition - Waterloo Region on Thursday, April 24th at 6:30PM. Local candidates will share their parties' platform regarding child and family issues and to answer questions from the KW community. Early Years Professionals Rise Up TO invites educators in the GTA to join their community meeting on Monday, April 28th, at 7:30PM to discuss current issues and learn about what the group is planning for the next few months. All are welcome! Register here!

  • New podcast episode coming soon! In the next episode of Circle Time with the AECEO, our Community Organizer Jess Tomas is joined by CARE Collective leads and members to chat about the impact of being involved in advocacy and the importance of creating safe and supportive spaces like the CARE Collectives, where ECEs can show up as their whole selves. Stay tuned to our Spotify and YouTube channels and, in the meantime,  watch the teaser for this episode!
