ECE Field Trip

Early childhood educators are experts at building relationships and following children’s lead to create learning opportunities based on their interests. But… What happens when we let ECEs’ own curiosity lead the way?
In ECE Field Trip, participants are invited to build community with the land, creatures, and one another: we are making space for ECEs to experience and explore their surroundings together, without being in the role of caregiver. Join us for a special ECE Field Trip along the Humber Recreational Trail for a chance to (re)connect with your inner child, tap into your sense of wonder, and learn more about why intentionally creating opportunities for ECE joy, curiosity, and friendship is crucial to sustaining our passion for the wonderful and demanding role of early childhood educator.
Our new date for ECE Field Trip is next Sunday, August 30th. If it rains again next Sunday, our ECE Field Trip will be moved to September 13th.
We will take the 55 bus from Jane station to enter the trail at the access point near Home Smith Park (Royal York Rd at Dundas St West). According to the information available, most of the path is paved and pretty flat. Our Field Trip will end by Old Mill station.
Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, weather appropriate clothing, snacks, and curiosity!
Please note: This CARE Collective event is available as a part of the AECEO’s ongoing commitment to creating a strong united voice for all ECEs in Ontario. If you’d like to support this kind of work, please consider becoming a member of the AECEO.
The AECEO will NEVER sell or otherwise share your information. We ask for your address so we can be sure we are reaching ECEs and allies in every part of Ontario. We ask for your mobile number so we can text you event reminders and follow-up supports (for this event only).
