RECE - Vincent Massey Child Care Centre

Vincent Massey Child Care (VMCC) is inviting applications for a full-time position in our Infant Classroom. The successful candidate will have a strong background in programming developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests. He or she will have experience working in the Infant age group, along with leading a team of educators to develop a stimulating and inclusive program.

Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Ensures that all actions and activities meet the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) regulations and the Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI)
  • Planning and implementing programs that are engaging, stimulating and appropriate for the age group. Program must follow the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) framework and be based on the interests of the children. Program must meet the physical, cognitive, intellectual and emotional needs of the children.
  • Document child's activities and daily observations into their HiMama account on classroom iPads
  • Direct and lead team members to effectively implement classroom program. Responsible for ensuring all team members are consistently following all requirements outlined in the AQI.
  • Advise the Program Director of pertinent information concerning children and their families
  • Advocate for the policies, procedures and philosophy of VMCC
  • Ensure availability for consultation with parents regarding children’s development. Able to effectively communicate appropriate guidance, feedback and instruction to parents.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment that meets the requirements set forth by Toronto Children’s Services and VMCC
  • Assist children in washroom routines, dressing and meal/snack activities
  • Follow all health guidelines specified by Toronto Public Health

Qualifications:

French Early Childhood Resource Consultant - Erinoak Kids

ErinoakKids is currently seeking a Bilingual Resource Consultant to work with families and clinical teams through our Early Childhood Resources Services in the Region of Peel. Successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as have a keen interest in working with children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities: 

  •  Collaborate with Region of Peel families and team members to identify needs, set goals and determine service plans to facilitate child and family development at home and in the community. 
  •  Work in partnership with assigned licensed child care program staff through coaching, modeling and supporting the achievement of center objectives and goals of the children involved.

Qualifications:

  •  A minimum of 4 years of experience with children (infancy to age 12) with physical and/or developmental disabilities;

POSITION SUMMARY:

The After School Program Lead works part-time at our After School Program with children in grades 2 to 6. This Program is located near: Black Creek/Jane & Lawrence. Programs run 3 afternoons per week (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays).The hours of work are from approximately 2:30 to 6:00 pm and run through June, 2018.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead an After School Program for school-age children based on the guidelines provided
  • Plan and organize a safe environment and supervise children to protect their safety and personal well-being at all times while in the program
  • Assist and support children to complete homework and other academic activities (in both groups and one-to-one)
  • Lead physical activity program
  • Design and implement nutrition, cooking, and health information activities
  • Implement social skills curriculum
  • Maintain up-to-date program records (attendance, etc.)
  • Work as part of a team
  • Communicate with parents/caregivers and teachers

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Graduate of a post-secondary child/youth related field such as Early Childhood Educator, Sport and Leisure, Child and Youth, Social Worker, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Kinesiology, etc
  • Experience working with school-age children in a recreation or academic setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Including excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong academic skills and ability to help with homework (grades 2-6)

  • Proven track record in using positive, effective strategies to lead activities with groups of children

Project Manager - Pumps for Premies

The Project Manager for the Pumps for Premies Development and Implementation Strategy is a pivotal leadership role with high accountability (LHIN, MOHLTC) and visibility in relation to system development.

The Provincial Pumps for Premies Strategy is a Ministry of Health province wide initiative. This initiative is being led by MGH in partnership with the Provincial Council for Maternal Child Health (PCMCH) and BORN. The initiative includes the collaborative development and implementation of a program that ensures mothers of premature infants < 34 weeks gestation have access to a free breast pump at home, while their baby is in hospital. To be successful, the initiative must be coordinated with several provincial stakeholder groups.

The Project Manager is responsible for the gathering of information to inform the project including establishing relationships with key stakeholders, leading the design of a model and pilot project including tools for implementation and patient education, refining the model and spreading implementation among eligible organizations across the province and establishing a data collection and monitoring strategy for evaluation. Developing sustainability measures for ongoing management of the initiative and compiling work plans and reports are also requirements of this role.
