The AECEO is proud to stand in solidarity with the Save Our Colleges campaign and staff represented by OPSEU/SEFPO throughout their strike action.

As the association representing ECEs in Ontario, we believe in decent work and pay for pre-service instructors, staff in on-campus early learning programs, and all those impacted by the lack of decent work in the public college system. We also recognize the impact that this has on staff in lab schools, support staff, children, parents and families.

High quality, reliable jobs are a critical issue in the early years sector and reflect an urgent need for labour justice. In order to maintain robust pre-service ECE training at a time where the $10-a-day child care program calls for expansion, the AECEO knows that instructors, professors, and on-campus providers must have access to decent work. This happens through accountability and increased funding to protect jobs, programs, and student success.
