This year marks 75 years since the Nursery Education Association of Ontario - later renamed Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario - was first established. Since November 1950, the AECEO has been directly involved in important developments in early childhood education and care, playing a key role in the areas of training, public awareness, certification, networking, & recognition for the ECE profession in Ontario. Thanks to our members and generous supporters, we have had the privilege of serving Ontario’s early childhood education (ECE) community for the past seven decades!
The history of the AECEO and the history of early childhood education and care in Ontario are interconnected. Generations of early childhood educators and advocates like you have been part of this history. Your stories, your care and passion are what make early childhood education possible in our province. Contribute to a very special edition of eceLINK
The AECEO is currently searching for contributions to General Articles and the ECE Voices sections of our publication, eceLINK. Since this year marks 75 years since the foundation of the AECEO, we want to honour this special date! Retired educators, RECEs, child care staff, students, ECE faculty, advocates and allies, we invite you to share stories, memories and experiences you've had with the AECEO to be published in the upcoming issue. Your stories are part of our history!

While we will accept submissions about other topics, we will prioritize pieces related to the 75th anniversary for the Winter 2026 issue. For detailed guidelines about what you can submit, visit this page.
To have your written or creative piece featured in the ECE Voices or the General Articles section of eceLINK, fill out the eceLINK submission form and email it to [email protected] with the subject line “eceLINK Submission”. Please include a short introduction about yourself and what brought you to the field of early childhood education. Submissions for this issue are due on November 15th.
