Decent Work Communities of Practice (CoP)
What is Communities of Practice
A Decent Work Community of Practice (CoP) is a team that works with the AECEO to build the Professional Pay and Decent work campaign in communities across the province. These CoPs are self-managed learning groups that plan and implement actions to increase the visibility and effectiveness of the AECEO’s Professional Pay and Decent Work campaign.
A CoP is meant to:
-
Generate new knowledge
-
Introduce collaborative processes
-
Connect people
-
Pilot initiatives
-
Share resources
-
Help organize people locally
-
Help to increase AECEO membership
Starting a CoP or getting involved with an existing CoP can be a meaningful and enriching Continuous Professional Learning activity for ECEs and early years staff in Ontario. The first step to creating a local CoP is to structure a team of individuals who want to take action for change!
The CoPs act as an extension of the provincial body and work in collaboration with the AECEO in a geographic location throughout the province.
