About Jane Lowe
Jane began her career as a teacher with the York County Board of Education. When Durham College initiated its Early Childhood Education program in 1985, Jane was hired as Director of the College’s Early Learning Centre, its on-site child care centre and lab school. Jane then spent 13 years as a professor of Early Childhood Education at Durham College.
Beginning in Sept. 2002, Jane was seconded from Durham College by the new University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) to assume the role of Curriculum Leader for the Office of the Provost. The primary responsibility of this role was to coordinate the development and preparation of undergraduate degree proposals for the University in the disciplines of Business and Information Technology, Science, Engineering and Education.
Jane’s formal academic credentials include a B.A.A. in Early Childhood Education (Ryerson), B.Ed. and Ontario Teaching Certificate (Primary-Junior), and M.A. (Adult Education).
