Update for AECEO Letter of Equivalency and
Recognition of Equivalency Certificate Holders
The College of Early Childhood Educators’ website section titled “Applicants for a Certificate of Registration: Document Requirement Change, section (d), states that as of February 14, 2011:
d) an applicant who has received a recognition of equivalency certificate or a letter of equivalency certificate issued by the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario (AECEO) or the Association francophone à l'éducation des services à l'enfance de l'Ontario (AFÉSEO) must provide to the College an original letter on letterhead of AECEO or AFÉSEO, signed by a senior official of the AECEO or AFÉSEO. The letter must confirm the issuance of a recognition of equivalency certificate or letter of equivalency certificate to the applicant, the date on which the applicant applied to AECEO or AFÉSEO for the certificate and the date on which the certificate was issued.
If you have received a Letter of Equivalency Certificate or a Recognition of Equivalency Certificate from the AECEO and have not yet registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators, please contact the AECEO at inquiries@aeceo.ca or at 416-487-3157, ext. 31 to request the AECEO Verification Letter as mentioned above.

L'AFESEO Letter of Equivalency Certificates are recognized by the
College of Early Childhood Educators as meeting the educational qualification component of the application process for membership in the College
