Certification

What is AECEO Certification?

The AECEO strongly believes in a need for an entry to practice standard after graduation and ongoing commitment to professional development as a means of maintaining training standards, quality staff and in effect quality programs. To this end, the AECEO:

1. Administers its own voluntary Certification process,
2. Provides ongoing Professional Development Opportunities, and
3. Advocates for the establishment of a College of Early Childhood Educators

AECEO Certification is an optional professional development step to take after graduating with an ECE credential from an AECEO recognized ECE program. To be eligible to enter the process you must be a current:

* AECEO Professional member
* Hold an AECEO recognized ECE diploma/degree or AECEO Letter of Equivalency, and
* Working in the early learning and child care field as a practitioner, administrator or trainer.

Also see section on Becoming an ECE.
