The AECEO is now accepting applications for workshop presenters at its 2010 Annual Provincial Conference in Hamilton, ON.
In 2010, the AECEO will celebrate 60 years as the voice of early childhood educators in Ontario. As part of our celebration we will be focusing on one of the most important innovations in early learning: full-day programs for four and five-year-olds.
The report by Dr. Charles Pascal “With Our Best Future in Mind: Implementing Early Learning in Ontario” envisions full-day programs that incorporate the best practices of registered early childhood educators and certified teachers with family and community services. The result will be more access to high quality early learning and care programs for families across the province.
This will mark a major shift in the way educators and Ontarians view early learning. It will require both training and professional development on the parts of everyone involved. The AECEO strives to be part of the dialogue about how we usher in this new program and prepare educators to be an affective part of it.
What expertise on full-day early learning for four and five-year-olds can you share with early childhood educators at our 2010 Annual Provincial Conference? Have you conducted research, developed policy, supervised or worked in a full-day program for 4 & 5 year olds? Have you worked in collaboration with agencies in your community to deliver comprehensive support to families? If so, please consider participating as a workshop presenter at our upcoming conference and pass on your knowledge and experience.
