On March 2006, the AECEO embarked on an exciting three-year pilot project entitled "Access to the Early Childhood Education field in Ontario". The project, funded by the Government of Ontario, will address the barriers faced by Internationally Trained Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) attempting to gain meaningful employment in the Early Childhood Education Field in Ontario.

The program acknowledges international training. It is designed to integrate existing training with Ontario standards as required for recognition.
